Adventures (Or Lack Thereof) of Samson, Delilah, and Chuck

I found out that our 3 "guard dogs" take the day off pretty often and aren't earning their keep!

We have 2 bullmastiffs and a pitbull and we usually leave them inside during the day while we're at work. Yesterday I came home for lunch which is unusual and although all 3 dogs were inside, not one of them greeted me at the door or came around the corner to check out who their intruder was! I walked into the living room to find the picture posted above ..... Delilah is asleep on the other couch and didn't fit into the picture. They were all laying around lazily and barely opened an eye to see who I was. Maybe they weren't worried because whenever someone just waltzes in the house it's always me or Ben, and "strangers" always knock at the door (which really gets their attention and they're at the door in a split second). I guess I need to teach them that burglars don't knock so they should pay a little more attention!!!

My husband had to go into work early this morning which left me alone to take the dogs to the vet- ALL 3 large dogs! Between the 3 dogs I could only find 1 collar and NO leashes at all! They have matching collars (for picture purposes, of course) and we have 5-6 leashes but I couldn't find any of them.

Luckily, all of our dogs are pretty well-behaved. All I had to do was let them out the front door and tell them to "load up" and they jumped in the car (or tried at least... I have to pick up Samson's back legs because I guess he doesn't know that he can jump). The ladies at the vet's office are so nice and helped me unload the dogs and the vet visit went surprisingly well. I can't believe that I took 284 lbs. of dog to the vet all by myself and with minimal collars and no leashes and everything worked out!
